Big Mac versus small fries

By Paul Tobias

The silence is deafening! Unbeknownst to 99% of Australians, the "McLibel" defamation case is now raging in a London courtroom.

Chicago-based McDonald's Corporation is suing two unemployed environmentalists, Dave Morris and Helen Steel. The pair are counter-suing McOctopus, which issued a leaflet accusing them of "telling lies".

The London Greenpeace organisation has launched a McLibel support campaign. The case, with its 160 witnesses, is expected to last until December. Letters and/or donations can be sent to McLibel Defence, PO Box 270, Northcote Vic 3070. Finally, would all previous letter writers please recontact this address.
