'Hanson will be greeted by protest'

TOOWOOMBA — When Pauline Hanson comes here to speak on October 25, she will be met by protesters against her racist rhetoric.

The protest is being organised by an ad-hoc committee of progressive activists, the Toowoomba Anti-Racist Campaign.

Hanson is attempting to take advantage of Toowoombas reputation as a relatively conservative city to further her crusade against the poorer members of society. The people of Toowoomba will reject any attempt to exploit them in such a manner.

The Hanson meeting is on October 25th, 1997, at the RSL Hall, corner of Herries and Ruthven Streets, at 1pm. The protest will begin at noon. All anti-racists who can attend are encouraged to do so.
