Join us in Tarntanya/Adelaide on the September 10 NTEU National Day of Action for Palestine to condemn the Israeli destruction of all Gazan education and cultural infrastructure, including the deliberate destruction of schools, universities, libraries, museums, archives and the callous targeting of students and school staff.
We also call for a permanent end to Israel’s ongoing illegal occupation of Palestine and to immediately put a halt to Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people.
We also demand that:
- The ALP must impose sanctions on Israel and put an end to the two-way arms trade.
- Australian universities must commit to the academic boycott of Israel.
- Australian universities must cut all ties with the Israeli military and its suppliers, and cut their ties with the weapons and defence industry and militaries in general.
- Weapons out of school: The department for Education must prohibit weapons and defence companies from forming so-called ‘industry partnerships’ with primary and secondary schools under the guise of delivering STEM-programs.
This action is part of the cross-union National Day of Action for Palestine initiated by NTEU for Palestine members in NSW.
The vigil will take place on Wednesday September 10 at 5.30pm, at North Terrace, near the Pulteney St lights.
